The Black Hills region, located in western South Dakota, is a historically-rich area and the perfect stomping grounds for experiential education. Visit Mount Rushmore, an awe-inspiring carving of past presidents out of granite, and one of the most famous images in the nation. Dive into Native American history at Crazy Horse Memorial, the world’s largest monument, and a session with Ateyapi, a Native American youth group. Explore the unique geology by visiting the Needles and Jewel Cave, the world’s 3rd-largest known cave, with walls lined with calcite crystals.

This region is truly stunning and packed with both educational and adventure opportunities! Leaders focus on the unique geology of the Black Hills, culture of the Lakota Sioux, significance of the "Shrine of Democracy," and marvel of the Mammoth Site. Sprinkle in some outdoor education and team building opportunities, and you have the recipe for a truly remarkable week of experiential education!
