ICELAND: The Land of Fire & Ice
Denver Christian Discovery Week
March 15-21, 2027
Education || Adventure || Culture
Iceland is a living classroom unlike anywhere else on Earth! This unforgettable journey invites students to explore a land shaped by volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls, and geothermal wonders while developing confidence, curiosity, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.
Throughout the adventure, students will witness the incredible forces that continue to shape our planet. They'll stand between two continental plates in Þingvellir National Park, hike across an ancient glacier, explore glacier lagoons dotted with floating icebergs, and walk the striking black sand beaches of the South Coast. Towering waterfalls, volcanic crater lakes, geothermal hot springs, and Iceland's famous geysers provide endless opportunities to experience geology and ecology firsthand rather than simply reading about them.
Beyond the landscapes, students will experience Icelandic culture through time in the vibrant capital of Reykjavík, sampling local favorites, exploring historic landmarks, and discovering the traditions of one of the world's most unique island nations. Evenings offer the possibility of witnessing one of nature's greatest spectacles—the Northern Lights dancing across the Arctic sky.
Adventure is woven into every day. Whether relaxing in the world-renowned Blue Lagoon, soaking in the Secret Lagoon after a day of exploration, hiking to breathtaking viewpoints, or experiencing the incredible Lava Show, students will be challenged to step outside their comfort zones while building resilience, independence, and lasting friendships.
At Simply Venture, we believe travel should do more than show students new places—it should transform the way they see the world and themselves. Iceland offers the perfect setting to cultivate curiosity, teamwork, adaptability, and wonder through shared experiences that inspire growth long after the journey ends.
